How a stack of pallets changed my state of consciousness

Joanna Urwin • August 30, 2021

So how did this stack of pallets change my state of consciousness and bring me joy and happiness?  Find out below....and I hope this article and its photos change your state of consciousness positively too...

There are many things that make me feel happy - but I never thought a stack of pallets would be one of them - but then again.... I am a photographer and photography brings me a lot of joy...

Happiness and joy are elevated states of consciousness.  No-one else has control over your state of consciousness - it is your power!

As I write this I am in a state of peace and harmony - which makes me feel grateful - and the words re flowing. I could, of course, choose to feel sad and angry and fearful - given what the mainstream media puts out every minute of every day - but I choose not to feel these states - that's my power....

Despite the current divisions being created amongst the souls on this planet, I have a deep knowing that we are actually all 'One' and therefore are all connected.  As energetic beings, transmitting energy of various frequencies I know that if I feel happy then I am transmitting a higher frequency of energy than if I were to feel sad.  We are also receivers - with different levels of conscious and subconscious sensitivity.  If my energy is of a high frequency I believe it can help others raise their frequencies too - like one tuning fork being affected by another.

As an empath and an INFJ, I know I have to protect my own energies from others.  It's very easy for me to tap into and feel the energy of fear that is being generated in this world.  I don't want to feel this low frequency energy so I protect myself.

One of the ways I do this is to tap into the feelings of joy and happiness by doing things that bring me these feelings.  So how did a stack of pallets help me to elevate my state of consciousness?  Well I didn't plan how this happened - not consciously anyway ;-)

I followed my intuition and decided to take a walk with my trusty camera - just as the sun was starting to set - a time known as the 'Golden Hour' when the light has a warm glow and casts ever-lengthening shadows.

I must have passed these pallets many times on my daily walks but this time they - and their light, shadows and textures - caught my eye and imagination.  They seemed to call out to me.

I spent the next half hour engrossed in wanting to capture what I saw - not only onto the digital sensor of my camera - but also into my brain, which for that half hour thought of nothing else - a veritable form of meditation for certain!  Searching out details was fun - such as cracks, splinters, inked stamps and cobwebs.

I left my house with no intention to write a blog nor expectation of what I might see - but to just be in the moment and to be aligned with and follow my intuition - in a high state of consciousness.  In seeing the resulting photos I can also tap into those feelings of the moments I created when I hit the shutter button.  So if I do slip into a lower state of consciousness, for whatever reason, I know just to re-read this blog :-)

I believe human beings are all creators.  We have an innate need to create. When we create from a place of joy and bliss then I believe that what we create is embedded with this energy - which can then be emitted to anyone who would like to be open to receive.

I would love to hear how and what you create from joy - or how you raise your own vibrations. And just know that whatever you do create from a place of joy will have a positive effect not only on whoever encounters your creation - even if no-one tells you so... but you will also contribute to raising the energies of this beautiful planet....

I hope you enjoy scrolling through the photos below and that they raise your vibes :-)

How to make Ghee - recipe
By Joanna Urwin September 8, 2019
Ghee is made by cooking butter to separate the oil from the milk solids and water leaving you with a golden, healthy fat that has a very high smoking point when cooking with it. It helps to increase your agni - or digestive fire - and helps sustain healthy microbes in the gastrointestinal tract to promote effective digestion and elimination. It nourishes all the tissues of the body, including the nervous system, helping to calm the body. It is easy to make - just click for the recipe.
When your agni is strong
By Joanna Urwin August 1, 2019
Today I was treated by my mum to a beautiful lunch in a relatively posh restaurant in Bergerac. I haven't eaten out in a while mainly because I just enjoy simple, tasty, home-made, ayurvedic-style cooking but today was a treat. When we talk about 'nourishing ourselves' it doesn't always have to be with rice, vegetables and beans - which have been the main staples of my recent ayurvedic diet. Today I was nourished differently - I was cooked for in a restaurant and I was treated - and my soul was nourished - thank you mum :-) However, a few months ago I don't think my digestive system would have coped with what I ate at lunch time as well as it did today and that's because I have been increasing my agni. Agni is your 'digestive fire' and the aim of an ayurvedic diet is to increase your digestive fire so that you can burn - or digest - the food you put into your body. You are not what you eat - you are what you digest ! The way we increase our agni depends on our dosha. My dosha is currently Vata which means my digestive fire does not like to be cooled down with cold drinks, salads or ice-cream. My body is also not great with tomatoes so the starter in the 'menu du jour' would normally have been a bit of a challenge - cold roast tomato soup with parmesan icecream - wow! Delicious! The main course was 'aiguielletes de canard' - a generous amount of them with a fruit sauce and a zabayonne de pommes de terre. Again - such different, stimulating tastes. The dessert was a Pannacotta . Normally served in a small dish, this was presented as a thin layer on a large plate - again... delicious but cold, sweet and creamy. Although all three courses were obviously served separately, my stomach received all three within an hour, so really I now have quite a complicated mix of foods in my belly which I am grateful that my agni is strong enough to deal with as I have no signs of indigestion or bloating - things seem to be burning well! However, it will be a simple soup for me tonight as everyone's agni is always weaker in the evenings - which is why if you are going to treat yourself - or be treated - best make it a lunchtime treat when your digestive fire is at its strongest between 12 and 2pm. Bon appetit!
